On the Southern side of Pentire there is the magical Gannel Estuary with its calm tidal waters and beautiful countryside backdrop. It’s a great place to enjoy a quieter pace, whether it be walking at low tide, paddle boarding at high tide or rock pooling for crabs with the children.
On the Northern side of Pentire there is the world famous Fistral Beach, Newquay’s largest and most popular beach, with a vast expanse of golden sand and protected sand dunes where there’s always room to find your spot for the day with the family. At the North end of the beach there is a large well equipped complex of boutique shops, fine restaurants and trendy bars.
The main town centre of Newquay is approximately a mile from Pentire. Here you will find something for everyone including a different beautiful beach for each day of the week.As well as a choice of sandy beaches and delightful walks there are many attractions within walking distance including the centre of Newquay with its picturesque harbour, Sealife Centre, and other leisure facilities. Newquay is home to some of the best surfing beaches in Europe and there are many surf and activity centres in the town providing qualified instructors for any thrill seekers.
Use the apartment as a base to explore the whole of Cornwall, either by car or public transport, with places such as Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm, Crealy Adventure Park, Dairyland, Lappa Valley miniature steam trains, a Japanese garden, Trerice Manor, a National Trust house and garden, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project, or the Tate Gallery in St Ives to mention just a few.
